■ A zine exploring the cultural history and evolution of ‘clowns’ and their various forms from pierrot, jester, joker, fool etc (from a European perspective). Beyond the horror movie monsters and ugly circus clowns, this zine is a modern exploration of the role of clowns in popular culture from internet memes and song lyrics to finding parallels between juggalo subculture and the ancient clowns of Native American tribes. Why do we relate to these laughing and crying fools? Underneath the make-up, are clowns self-deprecating heroes or miserable losers?
